Monoprinting madness!

blood count

I have rekindled my love of monoprinting lately, and tried to produce work based on cells and organic themes.  The piece above was my initial attempt, and reminded me of red and white cells, hence I named it “Blood Count”.

For the “Cells” print below, I started off using warm colours, then decided to overprint with green to give a contrast to the piece. I love the effect which the green has on the print, it has also allowed me to define more shapes within the print, making it much more interesting.

  1. Thank you Annemarie, glad you like my prints. Monoprinting is definitely one of my favourite techniques, experimenting with the transparencies are fun and spontaneous and the transformation between each stage is incredible!
